2018 Scholarship Recipients

This club season, Seaside have given out 9 scholarships to athletes who have been with the club 5 or more years to assist with their post-secondary endeavors. “We are extremely proud of this group of club graduates” states Shane Donen, club president. “This is a particularly special year for me personally. For the 5 boys receiving scholarships, they represent the group who started with the club in our inaugural year for our boys program. They were just 12 years old and knew nothing about the sport. Many thanks goes out to Shell Thompson who coached them in the early years and fostered their enthusiasm for the game. They have come a long way.”

The boys class of 2018 scholarship recipients include Michael Dowhaniuk, Malachi McMullin, Teo Ardanaz, Keatan Mann and Andy Barrero.

“On the girls side, again a special moment for me” Shane notes. “Mark Medalla (director), Maryanne Donen and I have had the opportunity to coach these girls since 13U Triple Ball when the new format was introduced. We have watched these fine young girls mature over the years. It is heartwarming to see how they have grown.”

The girls class of 2018 scholarship recipients include Emily Standerwick, Tori Dams, Jaylene Ashbee and Kendal Campbell.
