The Wave Practice Facility - Return to Play Plan:

“Reducing the risk of person-to-person transmission”

1)    Introduction:

Seaside Volleyball Club and YST have updated our health and safety protocols to a Communicable Disease Prevention Plan as per below;

2)    Janitorial Protocols:

a)    Enhanced Cleaning Supplies and Equipment:

·         Professional janitorial services scheduled 5 to 7 days per week (depending on frequency of use)

·         Touchless hand sanitizing dispensers – mounted at the entrance

·         Touchless garbage cans – at the entrance, one in washroom

·         Sanitizing wipes – at the front entrance

·         Touchless soap dispenser – mounted inside the washroom 

b)    Public Poster Signage:

·         (Exterior – front and back doors) Please do not enter if you are sick… 

·         (Interior – front and back entrance) Please use hand sanitizer before…

·         (Interior – front entrance) Worksafe BC Safety Plan

·         (Interior – front and back doors) Cover cough and sneezing

·         (Interior – front and back entrance & washroom) Washing instructions

c)     Cleaning Schedule:

The facility will be professionally cleaned regularly in the evenings as follows;

·         Floors – swept and washed

·         Disinfect interior and exterior door handles; all equipment and touch points

·         Disinfect washroom including toilet, mirror and sink

·         Check (and if necessary, replace) paper towels, toilet paper, liquid sanitizer and hand soap

·         Empty garbage cans   

3)    Program Rules & Protocols:

a)    Starting Monday, September 13th, all participants and coaches 19 years of age and older must provide proof of at least one vaccination with the official BC Provincial Vaccination card. Starting October 24th proof must be provided for at least two vaccinations. 

b)    Participants will NOT be allowed to attend a session if they:

·         Show symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 10 days. Symptoms include fever, chills, coughing, shortness of breath, sore throat, diarrhea and/or new muscle aches or headaches.

·         Show any symptoms of or have a cold or flu.

·         Have been directed by Public Health to self-isolate. 

·         Have recently arrived from outside of Canada and have been in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 infected individual and have not isolated for 14 days.

·         Have not signed the COVID-19 insurance waiver.

b)    Prior to entering the building participants must:

·         Have sent the club a parent signed COVID-19 Insurance Waiver.

·         Bring their own name-labelled, water-filled water bottle.

·         Wash their hands thoroughly before leaving home.

c)     Prior to the start of each program:

·         For daytime programs, participants must enter the building from the back.

·         For afternoon and evening programs, enter the building from the front. 

·         Participants must not enter the building until the participants from the previous program have left the building. Coaches will initiate entry and exit.

·         Participants are encouraged to clean their hands using hand sanitizer upon entering the building. Participants are encouraged to bring their own hand sanitizers.

·         Participants must wear masks entering and exiting the building. Participants do not have to wear masks during volleyball activities. Coaches must wear masks while coaching. 

d)     During Programs:

·         Participants are encouraged to exercise physical and social distancing during breaks and coach/player group meetings.

·         Participants have the option to wear masks while participating in activities during sessions.

·         Participant are encouraged to exercise proper hygiene including covering their mouth and nose when sneezing or coughing, avoiding touching their face, washing their hands with sanitizers or soap during breaks.

·         No sharing of water bottles, snacks or towels between participants.

·         If any participants show signs of illness during the sessions, they will be self-isolated and asked to contact their parents immediately for pick-up.

e)    When leaving the gym for the day:

·         Participants must take all of their belongings with them and discard any garbage in the assigned garbage cans. 

·         Participants are encouraged to wash their hands using hand sanitizers before leaving the building. Participants must wear masks when preparing to leave and exiting the building.

·         Parents and spectators are NOT allowed inside the facility during sessions and must wait outside for pick-up.

·         All participants must exit through the front doors.

f)     Additional Information:

·         Coaches will adhere to the same health and safety restrictions as the participants.

·         Touchless water station is available for use.

·         No visitors or spectators allowed, including parents, family and friends.

·         No food or drink (other than water) allowed in the building.

Yogi Sports Training Inc - COVID-19 Safety Plan

Updated September 9th, 2021 - In accordance with directives from Work Safe BC, Yogi Sports Training Inc and their primary rental group, Seaside Volleyball Club have implemented the following safety measures to mitigate the risk and spread of communicable diseases in the training facility.

1.    The premises will be cleaned and disinfected by professional cleaners, at the end of each daily use (as applicable).

2.    Participant Occupancy Limit: Maximum 24 

3.    Non-participating individuals including family members and spectators are prohibited from entering the premises.

5.    All participants and coaches are encouraged to wear MASKS during all activities.

6.    All groups are encouraged to avoid gatherings of individuals inside or outside the premises before, during and after the use of the facility. 

7.    Groups renting the premises between 8:00am and 5:00pm must enter the premises from the back of the building and exit the front of the building. Rental groups must vacate the premises at the completion of their timeslot before the next group can enter. After 5:00pm, participants must enter and exit through the front of the building.

8.    Exiting rental groups must take all belongings and throw out any garbage in garbage cans.

9.    During warmer weather bay doors will be opened and ceiling fans will be run to maximize airflow.

10.    All individuals are encouraged to wash their hands using hand sanitizers located at the front entrance. Individuals must bring their own water and are prohibited from sharing.

11. Individuals participating in activities on the premises are encouraged to exercise physical distancing whenever possible.

12. Rental groups must advise all users not to enter the premises if they show any signs of COVID-19 symptoms including fever, chills, coughing, shortness of breath, sore throat, diarrhea, and/or new muscle aches or headaches. 

13. Rental groups must advise all users not to enter the premises if they have recently arrived from outside of Canada, have been in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case, and have not isolated for 14 days. This includes anyone who’s been directed by Public Health to self-isolate.

14. If an individual shows any symptoms of COVID-19, cold or flu while on the premises, they must immediately isolate outside of the building, leave the premises, and seek medical attention. The supervisor will record all events and report to YST management. Management will follow up with the individual and should they be diagnosed with COVID-19, contact tracing will commence immediately. The premises will then be sprayed with a high-quality hospital approved fogger using the disinfectant vital oxide.

15. This safety plan will be monitored and updated as needed.

16. Any user group's failure to comply with any of the above can result in fines of up to $1000.

I am not aware of any COVID-19 illness, or other health related issues that would restrict or limit my child’s ability to play competitive sports. 

I agree to assume all risks and expenses due to any COVID-19 illness that may occur as a result of my child’s involvement in competitive sports’ practices, games and/or training activities at the Yogi Sports Training facility run by Seaside Volleyball Club and/or Yogi Sports Training Inc.

I agree to hold Yogi Sports Training Inc, Seaside Volleyball Club and/or anyone acting on its behalf either as a coach, a coaching assistant, or administrator harmless in the event of any COVID-19 illness, or other health related issues to my child while participating under the supervision of the above.
